A neoclassic mansion-captain’s house, a true sample of luxury and culture have been renovated and converted to a luxury exclusive Hotel.
At the highest point of the Caldera, 250m above the sea on the top of the traditional village of Imerovigli, with spectacular views of the village, the cliff, the volcano, the famous sunset and the Caldera rim 10 km from Santorini International Airport and 10 km from Athinios Port 3 km from the capital of the island, Fira.
The renovations are beautiful but I am so sad and disappointed that the exterior wall has been painted red. We have booked this space for our wedding day and feel that someone should have let us know before we paid the deposit that these plans were in place. I know that I'm just one person and my opinion is just that, an opinion, but this is our wedding day and we now find ourselves disappointed in the venue before we even arrive in the country. I've heard only wonderful things about La Maltese and hate to be feeling this way in the months leading up to our big day.
Perhaps La Maltese should consider letting other brides know so that they have time to adjust their expectations also. If I hadn't liked La Maltese on facebook, I never would have known of the renovations at all.
